I promised to be as apolitical as possible, but there are some issues that are truly serious that people are clearly concerned about, but not being concerned enough. This isn’t a missive about what party does or did what, or what is and is not a good idea.
But is is going to be a public record where, perhaps for the first time in my life, I’m actually saying “I told you so”. The new Affordable Care Act, regardless of what positives it may bring, has been fraught with problems and the political engines of all parties is making it into a debacle. And into one that a lot of people will not come out on the other side of well. Those people are you, me, our neighbors, our families and our friends.
My biggest issue is the hypocrisy of our leaders who promise one thing and contradict it with their actions. Those actions, which are resulting in people who did have insurance suddenly finding out they can’t afford it, or worse, are dropped. These number are already documented into the 100,000-plus category. This is not a positive move.
So, just for some of your reading pleasure, with more to be added:
This is just a taste of the news that’s in the open through legitimate news sources. If you’re not concerned, you should be. Each of us may be just fine with what we have. But isn’t the whole point to also watch out for our neighbors? Well, we need to watch out for them in this case too. Problems with the system must be fixed, or scrapped. Either way, though, when there is damage being caused, that damage may already be done.
On my old WordPress site, which is really more of a private journal, I would document the interesting, amazing and unusual observations of life. You see, I don’t do a lot of inward reflection, but I do sense, if not always pay attention, to patterns that surround myself, or others.
Then, to seemingly contradict or confuse myself, I also detect patterns that don’t have, well, a pattern. Many people see patterns as something that occurs with regular frequency, and therefore becomes predictable. But that misses all sorts of patterns that occur without that regularity, or are triggered by events that don’t have a cycle. Or are in themselves the trigger that seemingly come from nowhere for no discernible reason.
That old journal followed some of those “coincidences” (which they very well can be), and found a few along the way. So I am certain it will be here.
What does it all mean in the end? Almost certainly nothing at all. It’s just an interesting observation that if you see it, may open yourself up to other patterns. But don’t delve too hard for meaning or purpose. When there is none, it can drive you mad. So just chalk it up, make a big deal about it for a few minutes on a blog, and let it pass over just like it was doing anyway.
Hence, you will occasionally see musings that in the end, really serve no value. Isn’t that one of the joys of the Internet, though?
